COCONUT GROVE – Join us with your well-behaved pups for the Barkyard Theatre at The Barnacle series Friday, February 26, 2021 at 7 p.m. EST! We’ll be showing the classic canine comedy Best in Show on the lawn of The Barnacle Historic State Park, 3485 Main Highway, Coconut Grove, Florida 33133. The price of admission is $25 per person, and each person may bring a maximum of two dogs with them. There is a 50 person limit for this event, so make sure to purchase your tickets quickly as they will sell out! All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued. Should we need to postpone due to inclement weather, the alternate date is Sunday February 28, at 7:00 PM. All proceeds go to rebuilding the coral rock wall at the park that was damaged by Hurricane Irma.
This is a safe and family-friendly event presented by The Barnacle Society and Equipaws Pet Services. When you enter the park, you agree to comply with all safety policies. Attendees must sign a dog waiver, and all dogs must remain on leashes while in the park. Leashes must be hand-held and be no longer than 6 feet. Pet parents are responsible for picking up after their fur babies; Equipaws Pet Services will provide biodegradable poop bags. Dogs must have current rabies vaccination and license. (tag on collar), and be well-behaved, ex. no excessive barking or aggressive behavior. Aggressive dogs may be asked to leave.
Park in the neighborhood and follow The Barnacle’s nature trail to the front lawn for open seating on the grass. Moviegoers must socially distance themselves at least six-feet apart on the lawn. Masks are required and must be worn at all times other than when eating and drinking. Hand sanitizer will be provided. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome, and a limited amount of chairs will also be available on a first come, first served basis. Concessions will be available for purchase, including soft drinks, prosecco, candy, and popcorn for the humans, and doggie treats from Bullie Bites.
The Barnacle Historic State Park is administered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and events are sponsored by The Barnacle Society, Inc., a non-profit organization created for the preservation and financial support of this historic site.
